GAURDING THE GATE by GABRI VILJOEN
Years ago a group of like-minded people, a ‘secret society’, got together with the aim of guarding the art treasures of Southern Africa from being stolen. We are taken back to the historic train journey with President Paul Kruger and with what will later be known as the Kruger Millions, on board, to the intervention years later by the Hekwagters to ensure that the treasure is not lost forever.
Current day, and a questioning Hein Malan, a guy that is down and out of luck, is drawn into this saga by the memory of his late grandfather. It quickly becomes apparent that he led a secretive life. As the architect of a master plan to ensure that safety of the treasure, Hein’s grandfather seemingly left him clues to discover what really happened so long ago.
